Immigration lawyer Vancouver services help you find the right immigration application

We provide reliable and honest advice. An experienced immigration lawyer can help you to find the right type of immigration application for you. The right immigration application may be applying for a visitor visa, a student permit, a work permit, as a refugee, on humanitarian and compassionate grounds or your parent, partner or child may sponsor you. You may also apply for permanent residence or for citizenship. You may apply to the province of BC (called a”Provincial Nominee Program”) or you may apply to the federal authorities.
After you have decided on the best type of application, we prepare your immigration application in the strongest way to maximize your chance of success. We advise about what documents you should submit with your application and how best to complete the application forms.

We represent you to the immigration authorities throughout the process from when the application is made until they make a decision.

Immigration lawyer Vancouver service helps your family immigrate to Canada

You may qualify to immigrate to Canada if you spouse or partner is the better applicant. There are also applications for appeals, judicial review, for release from custody (called a “Detention Review”) before the immigration and refugee board, or before the Federal or Superior Courts.

What is the difference between an immigration consultant and an immigration lawyer?

Lawyers are required to be much more trained and educated than an immigration consultant. A consultant requires less than one year of higher education, while an immigration lawyer requires at least 7 years of higher education at a university level. In addition, a lawyer is required to do one year of practical (on-the-job) training before being able to challenge the bar entry examination.

You are also better protected with an immigration lawyer. The common-law prevents a lawyer from telling the authorities about your case even if the authorities have legal authority to request that information. There is no such “solicitor-client” protection with immigration consultants. This means that there is less protection/confidentiality for you if you tell an immigration consultant something that may later be held against you.

We provide very personalized services. We answer the phone and I often travel to your home to meet you. I work on evenings and on weekends to meet your needs. You should always have a good relationship with your lawyer so you can feel comfortable telling them very personal and confidential information.
