But for most people who are in Canada, they need to get government approval to take the job. This is called a Labour Market Impact Assessment. The employer applies for it and the employer is required to show that the worker would not be taking a job from a Canadian. The employer needs to advertise the job for at least one month and then they can apply. The employer is required to pay $1000 for the LMIA unless the LMIA is to support someone who is already in the Express Entry system.

Are Labour Market Impact Assessments an easy way to be approved for a Canadian work visa?

LMIA’s are usually not easy to get approved. A lot depends on the Labour Market and the job requirements. However, if there is a shortage of Canadian workers, then they can get approved within 2 weeks.
