Work permit
Work permits are issued in different situations. In some cases you may work in Canada without a work permit. In most cases you must have a job offer before you can get a work permit.
The job offer may be approved in three ways. First it may be approved as part of a provincial nominee application.
Second, it may be approved by a Labour Market Opinion. This is issued after the government ensures that the employer has advertised or recuited to find a Canadian but was not able to find a qualified Canadian to do the job.
The third form of approval is called “arranged employment opinion”. This is given if the employer is willing to give you the job in a year after you get permanent residence. This usually happens through personal connections or when the employer has regular openings or will have positions opening in the future due to an expected increase in work.
