The “Visitor” Application

Visitors have limited amount of time to visit Canada. They may not work or go to school in Canada. Canada requires people from some countries to have visitor visas and some do not. If a visa is required, the immigration authorities will require proof that you will be leaving Canada and that you will have enough money or support in Canada to take care of yourself. The length of time that the visa lasts depends on many factors such as the country you are from and whether it is an extension or a new visa. Visitor visas can be extended in Canada but a good reason must be given.
