The healthcare and education systems in Canada are of very high quality compared to most Western nations.
Medical Services in Canada
Medical services are completely free as it is paid from income taxes. Some provinces charge small monthly fees (about $25/month per person). There is no way to jump queues by paying for most medical services because this is illegal, so there is very little benefit in paying for private medical services.
The Education System
The education system is also of very high standards. Most people who can afford to send their children to private schools do NOT find a need to do so because the public schools are of very good quality.
So in many countries you pay taxes for these services but you still end up paying privately for them. In Canada, most people find the quality of these services are very good and don’t pay for them privately.
