Canada has a very welcoming attitude towards immigrants mainly because many people are immigrants themselves or have at least one parent who was an immigrant. We are a country of immigrants. Of course, we are not a perfect country, but in general, we are tolerant of different cultures. There are many free government programs to help new immigrants to learn English or French and to help get a job or start a business. We also allow new immigrants to sponsor their parents and some provinces allowed extended family members to be sponsored.
